The Cougars started the 2009-2010 Wrestling Season with a bang as they headed to Mullen H.S. on Thursday, Dec. 3rd for a dual. The Cougars won the dual 82-0 over a deplented Mullen squad due to injuries. Highlight of the evening was DJ Cornejo's 3-0 record. Way to go DJ!
On Sat. Dec. 5, the Varsity traveled to Granby, CO, and competed in the 27 team Middle Park Invitational. The Cougars finished 2nd behind Pine Creek, and had 10 placers. The Cougars had TWO Champions: Colton Maxfield (160 lbs.), and Ben Jordan (285 lbs.) You can check the rest of the results in the Resutls section. Way to go Guys!!
The JV traveled to Northglenn H.S. and had SIX wrestlers go undefeated and place first at the tournament. The SO/FR Team traveled to Rangeview H.S. and finsihed in 4th out of 16 teams. The Cougars placed FIVE wrestlers and had TWO Champions including: Taylor Newhouse 1st, and Bo Brunning 1st. You can check the rest of the results in the Resutls section. Way to go Guys!!
On Thursday, Dec. 10, the Cougars will be in action AT HOME against Smoky Hill H.S. The JV/SO/FR will begin at 6 p.m., and the VARSITY will begin at 7 p.m. THe Cougars will also be participating in the 3rd Annual Cougar Wrestling "TOY DRIVE". Anyone who brings an unwrapped toy to the meet, will receive a ticket for a chance to win some CT Wrestling Spirit Wear! The unwrapped toys will be delivered to Eastern Hills Community Church and they will be distributed to those in need during the holiday season. Make plans to come support your Cougars and those in need this season.
On Sat., Dec 12, the Varisty will be traveling La Costa Canyon H.S. located in San Diego, CA for the Jimmy Hamada Memorial Tournament. The JV team will be heading to Thomas Jefferson H.S., and the SO/FR will be "off" this weekend, EXCEPT for a few extra SO/FR wrestlers.
